Saint Vincent Hospital Posts Additional Permanent Replacement Nurse Positions

Additional weekday schedules and full-time shifts for permanent replacement nurses 

Worcester, MA – May 18, 2021 – Saint Vincent Hospital posts another 49 permanent replacement nursing roles. The hospital is hiring additional permanent replacement nurses to support the 140 nurses who have returned to work, enhance continuity of care as the strike by the Massachusetts Nursing Association continues.

The new postings increase the recruitment effort to 102 available nursing positions. The postings include emergency department, PACU, same day medical and same day surgery positions with 32 or more hours per week as well as positions in some smaller departments with full-time and weekday shifts available. The previous postings included all day shift positions scheduled for 32 hours or more per week in critical care and all but one inpatient med-surg unit. 

The hospital has begun screening applicants and expects to begin making offers on Wednesday, May 19, eight days after the first group of job postings.  

“We are grateful for the number of nurses who are applying for positions that meet their ideal schedules and are looking to continue or begin their career with us at Saint Vincent Hospital,” said Saint Vincent Hospital CEO, Carolyn Jackson.  “While we hope for a resolution with the MNA bargaining committee, we are taking necessary actions to ensure our hospital remains safe and operational.”
