Outpatient Behavioral Health Program Now Open!
Jul 28, 2016Saint Vincent Hospital Opens Outpatient Behavioral Health Program in Worcester
Saint Vincent Hospital recently began welcoming patients into their newly designed Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at 299 Lincoln Street in Worcester. The PHP will serve individuals who require focused and structured behavioral health therapy. It will also facilitate the transition from an inpatient setting to home by offering day treatment in a safe and comfortable setting.
“Saint Vincent Hospital is very pleased to expand its Behavioral Health Program with the Partial Hospitalization Program. It is very clear that our community can benefit greatly from more resources for patients requiring outpatient behavioral health services,” said Steve MacLauchlan, President and CEO of Saint Vincent Hospital.
“We are excited to offer this much needed program in the Central Massachusetts area. It is such a valuable resource for individuals suffering with acute psychiatric needs such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress or self-destructive behavior,” said Terry Cassidy Director of Partial Hospital Programs. “The PHP also has a Dual Diagnosis track for individuals having both substance abuse/misuse and a mental health disorder. The PHP is designed to prevent hospitalization, or can be used as step-down for patients leaving an inpatient setting. The program has an expert team of therapists, mental health counselors, nurses and psychiatrists to provide stabilization of acute symptoms in an outpatient setting. This enables patients to continue to live at home while getting the treatment they need.”
The program operates five days per week from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It serves adults, ages 18 and older and will begin to serve adolescents in the fall. PHP is covered by most insurance plans."
